Dr. Wael Akl, Nile University President, announced that Dr. Mahmoud Mohieldin, UN Climate Change High Level Champion for Egypt and UN Special Envoy on Financing 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda, has been selected as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Nile University, succeeding Amr Moussa, the former Arab League Secretary General.
Akl said that selecting Mohieldin reflects the university’s keenness to enhance the role of the Board of Trustees in carrying out external communication as desired, as well as finding sources of finance for the university and its various activities.
Akl added that the university decided to grant permanent membership in the Board of Trustees to Amr Moussa in recognition of his contributions during the past eight years, and to add Ibrahim Mahlab, Khaled Abdel Aziz, Najla Al Ahwani, Ali Issa, Jalal El Saeed, Amr Badreddine, Amr El Damati, Nermin El Tahri, Fathi El Sebai, Akef El Maghribi and Fouad El Nawawi to the members of the board after the end of the membership of both Najib Sawiris and Salah Diab.
