Dr. Mahmoud Mohieldin on joining the 25th conference of Arado Official on «The Readiness of Governments for a Sustainable Future» which was organized in the beautiful city of Salala Oman in cooperation with the Omani Ministry of Labour, with wide participation from governments, international and regional organizations and academia.
Dr. Mohieldin shared reflections on the state of SDGs and role of national and local authorities in accelerating the efforts by mobilizing finance, enahancing capacities to deal with the disruptions of AI, climate change and debt, and improving the incentives structure to change behavior.
Dr. Mohieldin discussed scenarios of aligning digital transformation in government services with the requirements of implementing the United Nations Beyond GDP initiative.
He emphasized the role of pragmatic approaches in regional cooperation to deal with the challenges of global fragmentation and avail opportunities for resource mobilization through intra-regional trade and investment as well as knowledge sharing.
