Dr. Mahmoud returned to Malaysia for his participation to the 8th World Conference on Islamic Thought and Civilization (WCIT_2026). The conference began with an address by HRH Sultan Nazrin Shah, addressing contemporary issues in governance, education, health services, and the role of Islamic finance. https://lnkd.in/e6EjVsG7
He participated in a panel discussion on development and cooperation, alongside esteemed speakers including TAN SRI Dr. Zeti Akhtar Aziz, former Governor of Bank Negara Malaysia and Founding Chair of the Asia School of Business; Prof. Noor Azlan Ghazali, Director of MINDA-UKM; and Mr. Nurhisham Hussein, Economic Adviser to the Prime Minister’s Office, Malaysia. The session was moderated by Dr. Rais Ariff, Founder and Non-Executive Chairman of EMIR Research.
In his presentation, Dr. Mohieldin discussed the impact of global geopolitical and geoeconomic dynamics on sustainable development goals (SDGs). I outlined an approach centered on regionalization and localization to effectively optimize the means of implementation, including finance and technology, for accelerating efforts towards achieving the SDGs by 2030. https://lnkd.in/ejjk-cvV
